Hearing the Music

USATF amended their headphone rule this week, allowing non-championship event race directors to decide whether or not to allow headphones during their event. This is a great move by USATF simply for the fact that the rule could not be enforced in most races. I never heard of one person getting DQ'd for wearing headphones, despite seeing thousands of people over the past year or two wearing them in races. However, the RRCA (Road Runners Club of America) still has a headphone ban in affect on their races.
