USATF Names New COO

USATF announced Thursday that Michael A. McNees will take over as Chief Operating Officer. McNees is currently the County Administrator of Blaine County, Idaho, and works with a budget that exceeds $600 million and 1,400 employees. The USATF press release also acknowledges that McNees has over twenty years of city manager experience and was a Big Ten champion at Indiana University back in the 70's.

USATF's hiring of McNees is another big step forward for the company. They hired their CEO from outside the sport, and now McNees joins the organization as an "outsider" as well. While he has experience in the track and field world as an athlete, he doesn't have past connections with USATF. The McNees hiring continues a trend of CEO Logan turning the company into a true business.
