Women's Field Announced for London. Simply Outstanding!

The London Marathon released their list of top women entrants today. On the list is American Kate O'Neill. O'Neill has the slowest PR out of the group announced, but she is ready for a breakthrough performance. It's unfortunate to see no other American women on the list, but if I had to pick one athlete to compete in London it would be O'Neill. She has loads of potential, trains with Deena Kastor, and is learning the marathon every training cycle she goes through. Here's the rest of the list:

Irina Mikitenko GER 2:19:19
Paula Radcliffe GBR 2:15:25
Catherine Ndereba KEN 2:18:47
Zhou Chunxiu CHN 2:19:51
Berhane Adere ETH 2:20:42
Lyudmila Petrova RUS 2:21:29
Constantina Dita ROU 2:21:30
Svetlana Zakharova RUS 2:21:31
Gete Wami ETH 2:21:34
Mara Yamauchi GBR 2:25:03
Martha Komu KEN 2:25:33
Inga Abitova RUS 2:33:55
Kate O’Neill USA 2:34:04
Liliya Shobukova RUS Debut
Jo Pavey GBR Debut

On another note:

"World record holder Paula Radcliffe will bid to win her fourth Flora London Marathon on 26 April 2009 against a field which includes the reigning World and Olympic champions, respectively Catherine Ndereba and Constantina Dita.

Germany’s defending London titleholder Irina Mikitenko, all three Olympic medallists and five of the first six finishers in Beijing, plus two former London winners and two World Marathon Majors champions, will make next years’ women’s race one to savour"

No words can describe just how amazing this field is except perhaps "greatest women's field ever!"
